We’ve done it. Jo and her magic little road runner helpers have got the registrations now open for the Cairns Half Marathon (21.1km). Again we’ve run into some road permit issues which has caused some delay, and a few grey hairs for Jo, but what the runners want – Jo delivers.
When: Sunday 29th June (Check-in opens 6am with the race to start at first safe light)
Where: Ryan Weare Park, Kamerunga Rd, Freshwater
A few more volunteers are required to assist, if you’re planning on running and can’t volunteer why not ask your neighbour, work colleague, spouse or milkman if they can come and support you with the exchange of some good karma their way?
This event is an asset to the local running community and its success in 2014 will ensure it remains on the CRR Calendar and becomes ‘must do’ event in Cairns. The run is for anyone out there who wants to challenge themselves, be part of a great race, enjoy what running in the FNQ has to offer without paying expensive race entry fees or travelling away to participate in a well organised and fun Half Marathon.
Also a great race for anyone inspired by the up and coming Ironman (but isn’t crazy brave enough to enter) or as a cool down run for all you Iron men and women who can’t wait to get back out training on the roads again.
