Following the completion of the Twin Bridges Trail Race recently, we can now recognise some worthy winners of the FNQ Trail Running Series. These awards are presented to male and female runners who have earned the highest number of points while participating in at least three of the four eligible trail races.  This year, points were awarded to participants in the following trail races;  Barron Gorge, Blacksnake, Mt Haig and Twin Bridges.

In the ladies section, DEBBIE ORD competed in all four eligible races and amassed 55 points, well clear of the nearest female runner. In fact Debbie confided to me that this award was a goal for her in 2014. Congratulations Debbie;  winner of the 2014 FNQ Trail Running Series for women!  Heidi Sweeting was in second place with 27 points and Sharon Waller third with 13 points. Well done, ladies! It’s worth noting that it’s not winning races that scores the points, it’s about consistency. Debbie was very consistent.

In the mens section, JEFF HERBERT went from strength to strength in gaining 50 points to take out the FNQ Trail Running Series for men. Congratulations, Jeff!   In second place, Jarrod Ausburn gained 38 points and Michael Xu was third with 25 points. It is also worth noting that all three of these men are relative “newbies” to running but have made remarkably fast progress in their short running careers. Well done fellas!

Medals for Debbie and Jeff have been posted to them recently.
