Many of us train with our dogs, but unfortunately most races restrict entrants from competing with their dogs. Not the K9 Challenge! Now in its 4th year this event splits entrants into a Small (<10kg), Medium (10-25kg) or Large (>25kg) breed category. Entrants have the option of a 3k or 6k event that takes in the northern environs of the Cairns Esplanade.
Our Event Sponsor is Petstock, Mugrave Road. Petstock will be giving away gift vouchers on the day to the 1st finishers of both distances. Your $10 entry fee and any other contributions will be donated to their choice charity –
North Queensland Animal Rescue (NQAR).
NQAR is a foster carer based rescue organisation in the Cairns region. We aim to rescue homeless and abandoned pets from local pounds and private surrenders.
All pets are de-sexed, vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed and flea treated, before being adopted out to wonderful new, approved homes. We are a completely not for profit organisation, run by volunteers, and do what we do because we love animals and care about their welfare.
