On a happier note; if you are looking for someone to run with on a Wednesday evening – the council has approved our permit to allow for our weekly Social runs along the Esplande – so if you need to run off some of that excess chocolate consumed over the Easter weekend, come on down this Wednesday! Beginning @ 5.30pm (at the same location as our Aussie Day Fun Run – ie – Curlew BBQ area just north of Muddies playground) – your choice to do either a 1 circuit of the 3km loop we used for The Aussie Day run earlier this year – or 2 laps for a 6km run.
Due to ANQ insurance purposes this run is only open for current financial Cairns Road Runner members – so if you have a friend who wants to join in – let them know they can register to become a member for $45.
In addition, I have been to the Barlow Park track – and have seen that it is all up and open for business – so beginning NEXT Thursday – 12th April – if anyone wants to come down to do a bit of “casual” track work – come join me! Start time approx 5:35pm. Once again, due to the ANQ insurance purposes, this training – although only casual in nature – will still only be for current financial Cairns Road Runner members.
